Skiing in Banff
Saturday we were up early and ready to head to Sunshine for a full day of skiing. We got there in good time and headed up the gondola. There were a lot of people there but the lines at the lifts were short. There was about an 80 cm snow base already and it was lightly snowing most of the day with a temp of -2C. Just an absolute day to be out skiing. We made out quite well for not skiing for a few years. Daelyn boarded and certainly got a workout. We stopped for lunch and still felt okay, however by about 2:30 we were feeling like it was time to ski out and end the day of skiing. An awesome day at Sunshine. Many good memories of skiing were had in years gone by with family and friends.
Calgary
Our trip out to Calgary last Thursday was on a sheet of ice so needless to say Fred did all the driving. There were many vehicles in the ditch in between Regina and Swift Current. Once we got to the border the road improved and we were able to make better time arriving at Shaun and Daelyn's by 7:00.
Friday morning we spent checking out the mall, some great sales for Black Friday that I couldn't resist.
That afternoon we visited David and Betty in Canmore. They have a beautiful condo there.
From there we continued on to Banff. Shaun and Daelyn arrived shortly after we got there. We went out for supper and took in the shops on our way back to our room. It looked very Christmasy with the lights and decorations in the shop windows.
