Schloss Neuschwanstein

Schloss Neuschwanstein is a 19th century Romanesque palace up on a rugged hill above the village of Hohenschwagua in Bavaria, Germany.  The castle was built between 1869 - 1886 under "Mad" King Ludwig II as his fairytale retreat.  His idea was to rebuild an existing ruin "in the authentic style of the old German knights' castles".


Our first site of Neuschwanstein from the little village of Hohenschwagua.  Very magical!
